ACFS Operational Notice - Port of Brisbane

Thursday, January 4, 2024

ACFS Port Logistics (ACFS) would like to provide further updates on the effects from the destructive storms in QLD over the Christmas break and continuing through the New Year long weekend.

Further to the destructive storms over the Christmas long weekend, which created multiple issues at the QLD terminals, more destructive storms smashed the port again over the New Year long weekend.

Patrick Terminal:

Patricks was able to recover the fallen containers last week within a 24-to-48-hour period and were operational again from 2200 on 27/12/2023 as expected.

DPW power outage:

Delays through all modules have ensued since the major power outage at DPW last week. DPW are sending out multiple 1-stop messages daily, giving updates, as they happen with all modules, to try to assist with container collections.

For the 3 working days last week, there were only 2 or 3 modules operational at a time out of 8, with some coming back online and then out of service again a few hours later, with operations being fully suspended Friday night through to Saturday morning due to lightning strikes in the area.

Saturday 30/12/2023 was more of the same, with work starting and stopping due to severe storms and lightning strikes, and then again on Monday.

For the majority of this week, there have been 5 or 6 modules operational out of 8, but some experiencing delays due to servicing both the water side and land side of the terminal.

2 x Vessels have been sub-contracted from DPW, out to Hutchison Terminal during this time, being the Cosco Valencia, and Hansa Freyburg.

Throughout this period, ACFS Port Logistics will continue to maintain transparent communication with our customers.  If you have any questions in relation to the above, please don't hesitate to reach out to your Account Coordinator, otherwise you can email ACFS Sales Department - salesenquiry@auscfs.com.

Yours Sincerely,
