WEBINAR - Proposed New Obligations on Customs Brokers Licences

Monday, May 13, 2024

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) is receiving feedback that many members are now taking receipt of their licensed customs broker renewal pack - explanation for the Australian Border Force (ABF) delay in dissemination is available HERE

OFFICIAL documentation outlining 'Proposed New Obligations on Customs Broker Licenses' are contained within these packs with a commencement on 1 July 2024.  The proposed new conditions have resulted in a lot of FTA member feedback. New conditions include fit and proper persons checks and ID verification of all staff that participate in the "operations of the customs brokerage". This can include individuals in basic data entry roles. The new conditions will in some circumstances extend to individuals outside of Australia.
