Dear customers, We have a lot going on here at Wallenius Wilhelmsen these days. For one, we have entered into an agreement to sell our MIRRAT terminal in Australia. Rest assured, the new owner will keep the same efficient team in place, and Wallenius Wilhelmsen will continue to use the MIRRAT terminal as normal. The new owner is Qube which is a leading provider of integrated import and export logistics services in Australia. Our other land-based operations in the area will continue as today. And most importantly, Australia remains a key market for us. We will continue to own the other seven terminals we have worldwide. The second larger piece of news from our side is that we are stepping up the pace in renewing our fleet. We currently have 12 new Shaper Class vessels on order. These vessels are not only larger than the ones we sail today as they will hold 9,300 cars (CEU), compared to the 7,000 CEU capacity we have today, they will also have a better fuel efficiency. This will help both you and us contribute towards more environmentally conscious shipping. The vessels will be ammonia ready with a design enabling them to be converted as soon as ammonia becomes available in a safe and secure way. The Shaper Class will not only help us move closer towards our near zero ambitions, but they also address your practical needs. I hope you enjoy reading more about the new vessels. With the situation along the coast of Yemen ongoing, there remains a significant threat to vessels transiting the Red Sea. Therefore, we continue to reroute all vessels out of the area until further notice. Our priority is the safety of our people. |
