Tasmania's export sector is back in the spotlight with the announcement of TasPorts as the major partner for the 2024 Tasmanian Export Awards. For the fourth consecutive year, TasPorts is proud to support these prestigious awards, which underscore the crucial role exporters play in driving the state's economy.

The Tasmanian Export Awards offer a crucial platform to highlight the excellence of our exporters and the individuals and businesses bringing Tasmanian products to the global market. The awards feature 13 national categories, with winners competing against their counterparts in other states and territories at the national awards.

TasPorts CEO Anthony Donald expressed his pleasure in continuing the Major Awards Partner partnership and extending support to the Emerging Exporter Category.

"The export industry in Tasmania continues to thrive as a dynamic and forward-thinking sector, and we are honoured to support Tasmanian exporters through our extensive multi-port network," Mr Donald said.

In a recent media release announcing TasPorts as the Major partner of Tasmanian Export Awards (4 June 2024), Premier and Minister for Trade Jeremy Rockliff said the Tasmanian export sector continues to shine despite global volatility, with goods exports reaching almost $6 billion in 2022-23.

"Every year, 99 per cent of Tasmania's freight travels through TasPorts' multi-port network, connecting businesses to the mainland and international markets.

"TasPorts has a unique understanding of the critical role exporters play in keeping Tasmania's economy strong, and we are grateful for their continued support of the Tasmanian Export Awards."

This year, for the first time, the Tasmanian Exporter of the Year award winner will receive access to a grant of up to $10,000 to attend an international trade show or event or join a Tasmanian Government trade mission.

Joining TasPorts in sponsoring these awards are:

  • Australia Post
  • DSV Global Transport & Logistics
  • Port of Melbourne
