Prepare your business for winter

The winter months bring hazards and extra costs, so get prepared to ensure your business runs smoothly at this time of year. Check out our tips to protect your business and your employees during the colder months.

Reminder: changes from 1 July

Don't forget to read up on the changes coming into place from 1 July, including changes to the National Minimum wage, changes to casual employment, and the ban on engineered stone. 

3G network closing down

Australia's 3G network will be shutting down from August 2024. This may affect mobile devices as well as other electronics including EFTPOS terminals, security systems, scanners and more. Make sure you're prepared so that your business isn't impacted. 

Country of origin labelling for seafood in hospitality

If you run a business in the hospitality sector or sell prepared dishes containing seafood, we want to hear from you! Complete the country of origin labelling for seafood survey to give feedback on how future guidance material is provided. 

New Commonwealth procurement rules

The Australian Government has announced that from 1 July 2024 there will be updates to the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and the introduction of the Commonwealth Supplier Code of Conduct. These changes mean more procurements will be sources from small to medium businesses.

The U25-GO grant opportunity provides grant funding of up to $2 million to peak Police Citizens' Youth Clubs and Blue Light Organisations to help young people at risk of entering the criminal justice system to engage with family and community.
