Class 19.2 (AEPCOMM) Approved Arrangement - Survey Results and Expansion of scheme

The results of the Freight & Trade Alliance's (FTA) Class 19.2 AEPCOMM Survey are now available.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the 80 customs brokers who participated and contributed to the survey's success.

The findings have been analysed and presented to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) demonstrating FTA's continued dedication to supporting the development of strategies that improve AEPCOMM.

Customs Broker - AEPCOMM Survey

Question 4 of the survey enquired whether members believed the continued expansion of AEPCOMM to be beneficial. An overwhelming 88.8% of respondents affirmed this view.

We are pleased to see the expansion of the AEPCOMM scheme as announced in Import Industry Advice Notice 131-2024

What has changed?

From 20 June 2024, the scope of the approved arrangement class 19.2 has been expanded to include the following commodities:

• 6305 - sacks and bags, of a kind used for the packing of goods

• 6309 - worn clothing and other worn articles

• 6310 - used or new rags, scrap twine, cordage, rope and cables and worn out articles of twine, cordage, rope or cables, of textile materials

• 6911 - tableware, kitchenware, other household articles and toilet articles, of porcelain or china

• 7013 - glassware of a kind used for table, kitchen, toilet, office, indoor decoration or similar purposes

• 7307 – Tube or pipe fittings (for example, couplings, elbows, sleeves), of iron or steel

• 7311 - containers for compressed or liquefied gas, of iron or steel

• 7326 - Other articles of iron or steel

• 8414.51 - table, floor, wall, window, ceiling or roof fans, with a self-contained electric motor of an output not exceeding 125 W

• 8501 - Electric motors and generators (excluding generating sets)

• 9301 - military weapons, other than revolvers, pistols and the arms of 9307.00.00

• 9403 - other furniture and parts thereof

• 9504.90.90.83 - board games

• 9615 - combs, hair-slides and the like; hairpins, curling pins, curling grips, hair-curlers and the like, other than those of 8516, and parts thereof

In addition to the above, the following BICON cases have been expanded to include new AEPCOMM BICON pathways:

• Prefabricated office, accommodation units and caravans

• Tyres

• Imported sea-going vessels

• Dairy

• Bee products.
