As an important stakeholder, we're writing to let you know that the Department of Transport and Planning will introduce a new customer website on 15 August, called 'Transport Victoria'.
This change follows the announcement of the joint-venture model for VicRoads in mid-2022, and involves separating the website information to reflect this.
The new Transport Victoria website will house information about how to stay safe while moving around our roads, metropolitan and regional road management and upgrades, active transport and state-retained regulatory programs including road rules, registration and licencing schemes, medical review, heavy vehicle access, tolls, fines, and drink-driving fines.
The VicRoads website will be the place where Victorians go to access registration and licencing services. Changes will also be made to the social media channels to reflect these changes and to help deliver more relevant and timely information, keeping you informed and connected across various digital platforms.
Changes to the Victorian heavy vehicle maps
As part of the change, the Department of Transport and Planning has worked with the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) to transition the Victorian heavy vehicle maps to the National Network Map.
As the transition is now complete, the Victorian heavy vehicle maps will be removed from the VicRoads website on 15 August. Road managers, transport companies and other interested parties should visit the NHVR Portal to access the Victorian heavy vehicle maps within the National Network Map.
The National Network Map is the single and authoritative source for every heavy vehicle journey across the whole of Australia so operators know where they can access, and where they need to seek access approval. Operators can search and view available networks for more than 1,000 heavy vehicle configurations, providing better visibility and fleet management decision making.
