Biosecurity remains a national priority to protect our food security, agricultural industries and the environment. This focus continues to drive the demand for training resources and ensures that necessary skills and knowledge are in place to respond to and manage biosecurity incidents.
DAFF is proud to support the continuation of the National Biosecurity Training Hub, an initiative dedicated to strengthening Australia's biosecurity expertise. The Hub plays a key role in supporting and promoting the six priorities set out in the National Biosecurity Strategy.
Launched as a pilot in December 2023, the Hub is a game-changer in the world of biosecurity training. It offers a centralised platform that enhances preparedness, response, and recovery efforts for tackling emergency animal and plant pests and diseases.
The Hub provides a national repository of online biosecurity training for industry, government and community, connecting biosecurity training providers across Australia, while helping training providers expand their reach. It also simplifies access to a wide range of courses, making it easier than ever for Australians to get the training they need, while helping training providers expand their reach.
Whether you prefer face-to-face learning or the convenience of online courses, the Hub has something for everyone. With both free and paid options available, there are currently over 60 courses hosted on the site coming from state and territory governments, industry associations, and the education and training sector. Some courses may help contribute to gaining formal accreditations or may support Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities.
Developed by Plant Health Australia in partnership with the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, New South Wales Department of Primary Industries, Agriculture Victoria, and Animal Health Australia, the Hub is a true collaborative effort.
