Purpose This Market Access Advice replaces MAA 2024-14 and provides an update on new requirements imposed by the Indonesian Quarantine Authority (IQA) for exporters of animal and animal products, fish and fish products and plant and plant products into Indonesia. Summary of key points Indonesia's regulation (regulation 9/2024) regarding Quarantine Documents and Seals includes new requirements for exporters of animal and animal products, including fish and fish products, to submit prior notice of export to IQA. Additional information on the portal used to apply for prior notice including a user manual can be found here: https://notice.karantinaindonesia.go.id/ The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) is aware these requirements will now be implemented by IQA from 6 October 2024. The department understands the requirement for prior notice will apply to consignments departing from Australia on or after this date. IQA have advised that exporters should submit their prior notice for a consignment as soon as possible. The department understands that prior notices cannot be amended once submitted. Exporters are encouraged to submit additional prior notices where required to ensure details of consignments are complete and accurate prior to arrival of product in Indonesia. The department continues to engage with Indonesian authorities as a matter of urgency to better understand the impacts of these requirements on Australian industry and will provide relevant updates once more information becomes available. The Manual of Importing Country Requirements (Micor) will be updated to reflect this market access advice. The department encourages users of Micor to subscribe to the Micor update service for a commodity-specific email that lists changes that have been made in the preceding week. The department encourages all exporters to work with their importer to ensure that product meets the current importing country requirements from 6 October 2024. The department encourages exporters to contact the department via exportstandards@aff.gov.au should they be advised of issues with consignments prior to or on arrival in Indonesia relating to these requirements.
