TasPorts welcomes the addition of two early morning Qantas Q400 flights from 31 January 2025.
TasPorts' Chief Executive Officer Anthony Donald said the Monday and Tuesday flights will commence from 31 January 2025 and will support day trips from Devonport to Melbourne.
"The addition of these flights is the result of truly collaborative discussions between Qantas, West by North West and TasPorts and it's great to see such a positive outcome," Mr Donald said.
"We're looking forward to the arrival of the Q400 planes which will increase seat capacity by more than 100 seats per week into Devonport Airport.
"The current Q300 planes have a seat capacity of 50 with the Q400 featuring 74."
Mr Donald said as a key gateway to Tasmania's northwest for tourism and business travellers, Devonport Airport was ready to welcome the bigger planes next month.
"We will continue to work in partnership with our airline partners for the benefit of Tasmanians and in particular the northwest region," he said.
