Purpose
This Market Access Advice (MAA) informs stakeholders of current issues with clearance of milk and milk product consignments in Morocco.
The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) is aware that consignments of Australian milk and milk products for human consumption exported to Morocco are experiencing issues with clearance at the border. These issues are related to an update of Moroccan export certification requirements.
The department is actively engaging with the Moroccan Office National de Sécurité Sanitaire des Produits Alimentaires regarding their certification requirements for milk and milk products for human consumption exported from Australia.
While the department is engaging with Morocco on certification, exports to Morocco for Australian milk and milk products are at commercial risk. The department encourages all exporters to work with their importer to ensure that product and associated export certification meets the current importing country requirements and will be accepted at border clearance. Exporters should contact the department at exportstandards@aff.gov.au if they experience issues with clearance of their consignments.
A contemporary Market Access Advice will be published when more information becomes available.
Micor
The Manual of Importing Country Requirements (Micor) has been updated to reflect this market access advice. The department encourages users of Micor to subscribe to the Micor update service for a commodity-specific email that lists changes that have been made the preceding week.
