Purpose This Market Access Advice (MAA) provides an update to MAA 2023-39 regarding the implementation of Halal Certification for milk and milk products exported to Egypt. The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) understands that the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation has extended the period during which milk and milk products that are not accompanied by a Halal Certificate are allowed to enter Egypt until 31 December 2025 (date of arrival at Egyptian ports). Exporters should liaise with their importer to confirm Halal requirements (including the payment of fees) and register with IS EG Halal before the new deadline. Micor The Manual of Importing Country Requirements (Micor) has been updated to reflect this market access advice. The department encourages users of Micor to subscribe to the Micor update service for a commodity-specific email that lists changes that have been made the preceding week.
