Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) has received advice from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) in relation to advice concerning a New application form to request biosecurity inspection at a non-Approved Arrangement site.
FTA supports initiatives aimed at streamlining the clearance of goods across the border while strengthening Australia's biosecurity system.
During a recent meeting between DAFF and industry representatives, FTA raised concerns about the format of this reform being implemented via a four-page Word document.
FTA emphasised the invaluable contributions of members collaborating with DAFF's Simplified Targeting and Enhanced Processing Systems team and advocated for this process to be digitised. Specifically, FTA proposed integrating the ability to request biosecurity inspections at non-Approved Arrangement sites through the Biosecurity Portal or a similar digital platform.
FTA remains committed to driving reforms that enhance efficiency, reduce administrative burdens, and bolster biosecurity outcomes.
