Face to Face Seminar Sessions now open for Registration

All parties in the logistics chain, including importers and exporters, have legal obligations to ensure the safe loading, cargo restraint, transport, and unloading of shipping containers, as well as accurate gross weight declarations.

While subcontracting may reduce your direct operational control over transport activities, it does not exempt you, particularly as an importer or exporter, from potential legal responsibility under Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations

You still have a duty of care to ensure that all parties involved in the transport process comply with safety standards, whether the transport is handled in-house or outsourced.

BORDER

ABF Industry Survey - Time Release Study

The Australian Border Force (ABF) reports on cargo clearance times by publishing the Time Release Study (TRS). TRS is a method endorsed by the World Customs Organization (WCO) for assessing border agency performance in trade facilitation. The ABF is currently working to streamline the TRS and enhance how data on cargo clearance times is presented. We welcome your input to make the TRS a tool that provides easy access to border clearance data and meets industry needs. The information collected may be used to amend future TRS reports. The most recent ABF TRS can be accessed here.

The survey can be accessed  HERE - please respond by COB Friday 29 November 2024

TRADE

Economic Security and the Shifting Dynamics of Trade

International trade and investment, with an open, rules-based system, is central to Australia's long-term prosperity and our national security. But recent shifts in the geoeconomic environment have changed the trade winds – new stresses, and opportunities, are constantly emerging. Governments across the world are both responding to, and driving this new reality, presenting new challenges for Australian policymaking.
