FTA / APSA Congratulates Pat OShannassy and Grain Trade Australia on Global Leadership Appointment
Wednesday, November 20, 2024
Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) extend their congratulations to Grain Trade Australia (GTA), a valued APSA member, on the outstanding achievement of their CEO, Pat O'Shannassy, being elected President of the International Grain Trade Coalition (IGTC).
This prestigious appointment is a testament to Australia's leadership and commitment to facilitating robust, rules-based international trade frameworks—an essential cornerstone for ensuring global food security.
Under Pat's leadership, the IGTC, headquartered in Geneva, will continue its mission of addressing key global trade challenges, such as regulatory inconsistencies and non-tariff barriers. This collaborative approach will further enhance supply chain resilience and strengthen the efficiency of global trade for grains, oilseeds, pulses, and derived products.
Pat O'Shannassy commented:
"The international grain trade is vital to feeding the world. GTA's longstanding and active participation in IGTC ensures that our industry's priorities are brought to the global stage. I am honoured to serve as President and to continue advocating for risk-based, rules-based trade frameworks that benefit producers, exporters, and consumers worldwide."
Congratulations once again to Pat O'Shannassy and the GTA team for this remarkable achievement!
