Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) have received numerous reports from members of delays at the Qantas Freight CTO in Sydney.
FTA/APSA have met with Qantas Freight senior management to address the issues. Qantas Freight have confirmed that they have been experiencing backlogs for the past few weeks largely as a result of higher-than-anticipated volumes during the peak season, compounded by internal technical challenges and scheduling difficulties.
To address the situation, Qantas Freight has introduced new measures to help clear the backlog. These include bringing in additional resources from interstate to assist with recovery efforts, as well as increasing their workforce through recruitment, cross-training, and upskilling initiatives.
Qantas Freight is working through the backlog and has assured that all efforts are being made to return to normal service standards as soon as possible.
