Purpose

This Market Access Advice (MAA) notifies exporters that the electronic certification (eCert) parallel exchange for fish and fish products exported to the Republic of Korea will end, transitioning to fully paperless trade, on 3 February 2025. 

Summary of key points 

From 3 February 2025, certification for fish and fish products exported from Australia to the Republic of Korea will be issued exclusively via the Next Export Documentation (NEXDOC) system using paperless eCert. This means that only an extract will be generated for each completed Request for Export (REX), and printable certificates will no longer be available.

Exporters must use the EXKRF1 certificate template to export live and non-viable fish and fish products to the Republic of Korea. The FX46KR certificate template will no longer be available.

Please note that exporters will not be able to request a copy of the electronic health certificate. However, an extract, which serves as a commercial document for the exporter's records only, will be available. The full electronic health certificate will be directly accessible to border authority staff in the importing country.

Micor

The Manual of Importing Country Requirements (Micor) will be updated to reflect this market access advice. The department encourages users of Micor to subscribe to the Micor update service for a commodity-specific email that lists changes that have been made the preceding week.
