From then, any imported hazardous substances must be packaged and labelled in accordance with the new system. You can find out more here. In April 2021, the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) updated the classification system for hazardous substances in New Zealand to one based on the seventh edition of the Globally Harmonised System of classification and labelling of hazardous substances (GHS7). The EPA updated the corresponding Labelling, Safety Data Sheet and Packaging notices to reflect the GHS7 classification system. To keep up to date with changes in the hazardous substances space, including regulatory changes, you can subscribe to the EPA's hazardous substances update newsletter.
