Have Your Say on the Future Drought Fund Innovation Challenges Pilot

The Future Drought Fund (FDF) is pleased to announce that the Innovation Challenges Pilot is now open for consultation.

Developed in response to a direct recommendation from the Productivity Commission's 2023 review, the Pilot will provide $20 million over three years (2025-26 to 2027-28) to fund innovative, transformative solutions to the complex challenges posed by drought and climate impacts.

The Pilot adopts a challenge-oriented approach to foster innovative solutions for the complex issues stemming from drought and climate change.

We want to test new approaches that strengthen the wellbeing, and drought and climate resilience of rural, regional and remote communities while improving agricultural landscapes.

As a first step, we're inviting you to provide feedback on the Innovation Challenges Pilot.

Why your input matters

The success of the Innovation Challenges Pilot depends on the insights and expertise of people like you. We need your help to:

  1. Identify and define key drought and climate challenges facing Australian agriculture.
  2. Ensure the Pilot delivers impactful solutions to address the most pressing issues in your region.

Your feedback will help shape the pilot's objectives, target areas, and application process to ensure future grant opportunities are fit for purpose.

How to participate

The consultation is now live and will remain open until 5pm 13 March 2025.

We encourage you to share your insights through written submissions via the Have Your Say website.
