PORT MATTERS | SUMMER 2025

Welcome to the Summer edition of Port Matters,

In this issue, we are pleased to present our 2023-24 Annual Report and reflect on some achievements for New South Wales (NSW) and the maritime industry. In addition to delivering strong financial results, we've made significant progress in enhancing operational efficiency, supported a resurgence of cruise and achieved a reduction of Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions to zero.

In the last financial year, we facilitated the safe passage of 10,200 commercial vessels, enabling more than $100 billion in trade for NSW. At the same time, our dedicated operations teams demonstrated their commitment to protecting both our ports and the marine environment, responding to 783 marine incidents and 304 emergencies across the state.

In other news, we've unveiled a significant upgrade to our on-water operations with a new floating pontoon at Moores Wharf in Sydney Harbour. This enhancement improves access, safety, and operational efficiency, especially during emergency responses. The floating pontoon replaces outdated fixed jetties, offering better vessel access by maintaining a consistent level with vessel decks, regardless of tide movement. The upgrade also includes a new wave baffle for calmer waters, increased berths, and additional fuel facilities.

I hope you enjoy reading about our latest news and reports.
