Welcome to the March edition of Port of Brisbane News.Like much of southeast Queensland, a significant amount of focus and energy this month was working with Maritime Safety Queensland, our customers and stakeholders, as we prepared for and responded to Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
By working collaboratively, the port community minimised
disruption while prioritising the safety of people and property. I wish to again extend my thanks to all involved for your support and collaboration during the event as the Port returned quickly to normal operations.
In other news, March saw the start of the national cotton season – a key agricultural
commodity handled through the Port – with members from our Trade team at a key
industry forum in Toowoomba for the occasion.
Building positive community partnerships is a key area of focus for us, and our
Community Grant Program supports the valuable work of community organisations locally and throughout our trade hinterland. If you know an organisation that could use up to $15,000 funding, please encourage them to get in touch with our community team.
