2025-2026 FTA ONLINE CPD & CBC TRAINING PACKAGES

FTA offers Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Continued Biosecurity Competency (CBC) training online for the customs broker licencing period 1 April to 31 March each year. The cost of an online training package is $150 (excl. gst) for member organisations with bulk discounts available on a sliding scale.

Licensed customs brokers not employed by a corporate FTA member, can purchase an Individual Membership which includes online CPD & CBC training for the cost of only $300 (excl. gst) per customs broker licensing period. SCLAA International Women's Day - Brisbane

The rescheduled International Women's Day Breakfast in Brisbane — postponed thanks to a rather disruptive and uninvited guest called Tropical Cyclone Alfred — was absolutely worth the wait!. 

A massive credit to the Supply Chain & Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA) team for pulling it all together, and hats off to the incredible lineup of speakers and panellists who delivered honest, impactful perspectives grounded in lived experience

Anti-Dumping Commission - Statement of Expectations

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) has this morning (2 April 2025) received correspondence from David Latina (Commissioner | Anti-Dumping Commission) that the Minister for Industry and Science, the Hon Ed Husic MP, has written to him with his Statement of Expectations (SoE) for the Anti-Dumping Commission.

Fremantle Wharf Maintenance UPDATE

Following previous communication from Fremantle Ports regarding essential berth maintenance at Fremantle Port's container berths, please find attached the updated maintenance schedule.
 
DP World Terminal  Berth 5 Shutdown: 07 April – 14 April 2025  
Patrick Terminal Berth 9 Shutdown: 19 May – 26 May 2025  
These maintenance works are necessary to ensure ongoing safety and operational efficiency.

Pre-load Air Cargo Targeting (PACT) program for all shipments travelling by air to/through Canada - from 1 April 2025

Effective from 1 April 2025, Transport Canada (TC) will implement their Pre-load Air Cargo Targeting (PACT) program.

Like other Pre-Loading Advance Cargo Information (PLACI) programs such as in the US and in Europe, this regulation mandates data reporting prior to departure from the last overseas port before arrival into Canada for all shipments travelling by air to/through Canada originating from a non-Canadian port. READ MORE
