ACCC Seek Further Information and Delay Announcement on the DP World Australia Proposed Acquisition of SIlk Logistics Holdings

Wednesday, April 9, 2025

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) have received information from the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) regarding DP World Australia's (DPWA) proposed acquisition of Silk Logistics Holdings (Silk).

The ACCC have announced that as per they are seeking further information from the merger parties therefore, as per Informal Merger Review Process Guidelines, the former date for announcement of ACCC's findings (5 June 2025) is now delayed.

The ACCC are expected to announce a revised decision date in due course.

FTA/APSA continue to strongly urge the ACCC to oppose the proposed acquisition and instead promote a competitive, transparent, and innovation-driven logistics sector — one where no single party can dominate the entire chain from quayside to customer.
