Fremantle Ports is pleased to advise that critical maintenance works at Container Berth 5 (DP World) have been successfully completed ahead of schedule, with the berth handed back on Sunday, 13 April.
Key works completed include:
- Crane rail replacement and concrete works
Routine replacement ensures the crane rail system can continue to support heavy loads and dynamic stresses, enabling smooth and efficient crane movements. - Under-wharf batter wall repairs
These works enhance the structural stability required to resist lateral forces from changing and extreme weather conditions. - Crane rail concrete shoulder repairs
Essential to maintaining the integrity of the crane rail infrastructure, these repairs also help reduce the risk of workplace tripping hazards and the impact of heavy vehicles. - Deck soffit repairs (no deck restrictions)
The deck soffit is a key structural element, particularly vulnerable in marine environments. Repairs help preserve its integrity without restricting operations. - Fender inspections and maintenance
Regular inspections and maintenance in line with manufacturer specifications extend the life and serviceability of fender systems. - Mooring bollard refurbishments
Refurbishing mooring bollards helps maintain their reliability, service life, and operational safety.
These critical works form part of our ongoing commitment to improving the safety and reliability of quay crane operations, maintaining wharf infrastructure integrity, and ensuring the continued efficient servicing of container vessels.
