Fremantle Ports - Ship and Cargo Charges from 1 July 2025

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) have received the following update from Fremantle Ports:

19 May 2025 FREMANTLE PORTS - SHIP AND CARGO CHARGES FROM 1 JULY 2025

On behalf of Fremantle Ports, I would like to thank you for your ongoing partnership. As Western Australia's gateway for trade, we are committed to providing efficient, safe, and sustainable port services that underpin the state's economic growth.

Fremantle Ports is undergoing a major transformation to ensure the port remains fit for purpose, both now and into the future. This program of work is crucial for supporting trade, strengthening and maintaining critical infrastructure, and upholding service expectations while advancing the priorities set out in our 2027 Strategic Plan.

Fremantle Ports has reviewed its costs to deliver services and the associated fees aiming to balance as near as reasonably possible full cost recovery whilst maintaining competitive pricing and continuation of its purpose to facilitate trade. Key areas include:

• Critical Infrastructure spend to ensure the port remains fit for purpose - now and into the future. The investment into our infrastructure allows us to maintain and potentially grow trade capacity.

• Labour: Recent material increases in wage costs and the need to strengthen internal capability in critical operational areas.

• Security: Strengthened compliance and security measures in response to an evolving regulatory environment.

• Technology: Modernisation of information systems to improve service delivery and operational efficiency. Over the past five years, during and after COVID-19, Fremantle Ports has predominantly kept fee increases significantly below CPI and absorbed other new costs associated with the business. Looking to the future, Fremantle Ports will invest in upgrading and building new infrastructure as a critical step to maintaining and enhancing the quality of service. This proactively ensures the port remains efficient, resilient, and capable of meeting future trade demands and customer expectations.

Fremantle Ports' approved pricing changes, effective 1 July 2025, include increases in container unit pricing, tariff rates, mooring charges and pilotage services, as well as introducing flat fee pricing for Out of Gauge cargo and activating berth hire charges for vessels not being worked (cargo operations).

Updated ship and cargo charges are now available on our website.

Fremantle Ports is committed to supporting you through this transition and is contactable at customer@fremantleports.com.au to answer any queries. Thank you again for your continued support as we invest in the future of Western Australia's trade infrastructure.

Yours sincerely, Jamie Allardice General Manager Commercial and Customer
