Fremantle Ports - Ship and Cargo Charges from 1 July 2025 and
1 October 2025

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) have received the following update from Fremantle Ports:

FREMANTLE PORTS - SHIP AND CARGO CHARGES FROM 1 JULY 2025 & 1 OCTOBER 2025

On behalf of Fremantle Ports, I would like to thank you for your ongoing partnership. As Western Australia's gateway for trade, we are committed to providing efficient, safe, and sustainable port services that underpin the state's economic growth.

Fremantle Ports is undergoing a major transformation to ensure the port remains fit for purpose, both now and into the future. This program of work is crucial for supporting trade, strengthening and modernising critical infrastructure, and upholding service expectations while advancing the priorities set out in our 2027 Strategic Plan.

As part of this program, the organisation's costs have increased due to necessary investment across several key areas as communicated in my letter dated the 19th May 2025.

Further to this earlier correspondence in the interest of facilitating a seamless transition, an adjustment of 2.5% will be applied to specific container wharfage and port improvement fee charges from the 1 st of July through to the 30th of September 2025. This temporary measure precedes the full adjustment to container pricing, which will now take effect on the 1 st of October 2025 as outlined in Annexure 1. This staged approach assists the broader supply chain and provides additional time for planning and adaptation.

Please note that all other published increases will proceed as scheduled from the 1 st of July 2025, in accordance with Fremantle Ports' prior communication. We recognise that these increases may have varying impacts on different operators and understand that pricing changes can be challenging, however, they are essential to ensure Fremantle Ports remains a safe, reliable, and efficient facilitator of trade. We are committed to working with you through this transition and thank you again for your continued support as we invest in the future of Western Australia's trade.

Yours sincerely, Jamie Allardice General Manager - Commercial and Customer

FTA/APSA are pleased to highlight Jamie's comments in this notice, confirming the staged approach to the upcoming pricing adjustments. This approach is designed to assist the broader supply chain and provide additional time for planning and adaptation.
