| Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) wish to update members of some breaking information received from Fremantle Ports: Please see the notice following: Subject: Adverse weather preparation for period 6 July - 8 July 2025 - Notification 1 All Shipping Agents operating in the Port of Fremantle are to note the following Current weather forecasts indicate a prolonged adverse weather event for the period 6 July - 8 July 2025. To ensure good risk management during the adverse weather and in the interests of Port, Terminal infrastructure and Vessel safety, the following will be implemented in preparation for the adverse weather • Vessels at the FPA Inner anchorages – All vessels at Gage Roads, ORAN and ORA anchorages which do not have a berthing schedule during the adverse weather period or are not expected to have cargo operations will be required to proceed to sea. This requirement is based upon forecast wind force, prolonged directional impact and congestion at these anchorages. All charges for pilotage and towage shall be to the vessel's account. Vessels required to proceed to sea will be instructed to do so by Fremantle VTS. • Vessels at anchor in Outer anchorages are advised to heave anchor and proceed to sea for the period of impact. • All vessels at Cockburn Sound berths and Inner Harbour berths will be required to evacuate their respective berths and proceed to sea as instructed by Fremantle VTS. No vessels will be permitted to stay alongside berths. Fremantle Ports' scheduling team will keep agents informed accordingly. All charges for unberthing / berthing pilotage and towage shall be to the vessel's account. • Preparations for the adverse weather will commence on Friday - 4 July 2025 and an updated Shipping Agents' Memo will be promulgated. • It is important that all vessels evacuating from the port are required to stay well clear of Fremantle Ports' approaches and the surrounding coastal areas.
