Fremantle Ports - SailGP Racing Announcement, January 2026

It was announced today that Fremantle will host the first round of the 2026 SailGP season, with yacht racing to take place on Bathers Bay on 17–18 January. The event is expected to attract significant crowds.

 Please note that racing will not take place in port waters.

 Fremantle Ports is supporting SailGP through:

• the provision of land within the operational area on Victoria Quay for use as a technical site during January, and
• the controlled installation and use of moorings along Victoria Quay for a defined period.

There may be some impacts to cargo laydown and ship movements in the operational area on Victoria Quay and within the Inner Harbour. Fremantle Ports will work closely with customers and port partners to minimise any disruption through careful scheduling and other mitigation measures.
