Qantas - US Executive Order on De Minimis for international mail- from 29 August 2025

A US Executive Order has removed the de minimis exemption for international mail shipments valued at USD $800 or less, effective 29 August 2025. All mail entering the US must now undergo full commercial customs clearance. 

Exemptions apply to letters/flats without merchandise, military mail, and bona fide gifts under USD $100. 

 We recommend customers review their US bound mail processes and assess any potential impacts to shipping operations.
