Our newly launched Sustainability Approach is a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to sustainability.
In the broadest sense, we understand sustainability means that future generations should enjoy the same environmental, social, and economic conditions that we enjoy today.
We understand that our ability to contribute to this goal is closely linked to how well we plan, deliver, and operate the port assets and services required to accommodate Western Australia's growing population into the future.
Our Sustainability Approach reflects our unique business context, incorporating valued feedback we have received from customers, stakeholders and the community including:
- Annual Customer & Partner Survey Results
- Annual Stakeholder Survey Results
- Annual Community Survey Results
- Fremantle Ports Port Development Plan 'Important Issues' Survey
- Feeback relating to the development and refresh of our 2027 Strategic Plan
Our Sustainability Approach sets out ten priority environmental, social and governance topics organised into four pillars.
These topics were determined through a materiality assessment process facilitated by an independent consultant with reference to global best practice standards. They reflect our unique business context, strategic objectives and our customer, stakeholder and community priorities. Importantly, these ten topics were determined to be those within our value chain we have the most ability to impact in partnership with you.
Reporting on our progress relating to sustainability topics has already commenced in our FY2024-25 annual report, with all sustainability metrics due to be incorporated in FY2025-26.
We anticipate further engagement with you in the coming years when we will review the material topics in the context our broader strategic planning process.
