DOHA - Launch of Cyber Health Check Tool & Webinar

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) would like to draw members' attention to the launch of the Cyber Health Check Tool, announced by the Department of Home Affairs in collaboration with the Australian Signals Directorate, as part of Cyber Security Awareness Month.

About the Tool

  • Free and fast: A 5-minute self-assessment made up of easy-to-understand questions.

  • Tailored action plan: Provides customised advice to improve cyber security.

  • Anonymous and voluntary: Designed primarily to support small and medium business owners and not-for-profit organisations uplift their cyber maturity, but open to any organisation or individual wanting to assess their cyber maturity.

Why it Matters

  • Nearly half of Australians (47%) experienced at least one form of cybercrime in 2024.

  • Cyber incidents are projected to cost Australian businesses over $150 billion in the next decade

  • This initiative provides an entry-level step for organisations to assess vulnerabilities and build resilience against evolving threats.

Upcoming Small Business Webinar

Also as part of Cyber Security Awareness Month 2025, the Department of Home Affairs' National Office of Cyber Security will also host a webinar on:

Monday, 27 October 2025, 3:00 – 4:00pm AEDT (via Microsoft Teams)

This session will feature the National Cyber Security Coordinator, Cyber Wardens, and the National Anti-Scam Centre (Scamwatch), providing practical advice on:
