Who does this notice affect?

All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment.

As of: 16:15 Wednesday 08 October 2025 (AEDT).

The Cargo Online Lodgement System (COLS) is currently experiencing an unplanned service disruption. As a result, some clients may experience an error message when submitting their lodgement.  

An error message may appear asking for the 'Consignment Entry Type' even when already completed by the user. 

Action

Impacted clients are asked to submit a 'General import enquiry' through the Make an Enquiry pathway in COLS. 

This issue is being investigated as a priority, and the department will advise once resolved.
