Fremantle Ports - Operations resume after incident at KBJ

In the morning of Tuesday 14 October, there was a fire in the hold of the vessel Yangze 17 at Kwinana Bulk Jetty while discharging a cargo of sulphur.

Three Qube employees were treated on the scene by paramedics.

Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) arrived shortly after the incident, taking control of the site and coordinating the firefighting response with the ship's crew.

Operations resumed at 2pm the same day.

Fremantle Ports CEO Jodie Ransom said, "The wellbeing of the Qube employees involved in the incident is the priority. The appropriate authorities will investigate to determine the cause of the incident."
