New Chair Appointed to the National Customs Brokers Licensing Advisory Committee

Wednesday, October 29, 2025

The Australian Border Force (ABF) has announced the appointment of Ms Rosemary Martin GAICD as the new independent Chair of the National Customs Brokers Licensing Advisory Committee (NCBLAC). Ms Martin commenced in the role on 20 October 2025 and has already presided over a number of matters.

Ms Martin brings more than 35 years of legal and regulatory experience across both public and private sectors, including roles in several of Australia's leading law firms. Her background spans commercial law, licensing and disciplinary regimes, and senior judicial and board appointments — including as Senior Commissioner of the Land and Environment Court of NSW, Mining Warden of Victoria, and General Counsel to Public Transport Victoria.

The NCBLAC plays an important role in supporting the ABF's administration of the Customs Broker Licensing Regime, providing expert advice and recommendations on licensing and disciplinary matters. While operating independently of the ABF's decision-making process, the Committee's work contributes directly to maintaining the integrity and professionalism of the customs brokerage sector.

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) acknowledges the significant contribution of Professor Robin Creyke, who served as Chair since 2018, and extends best wishes for her future endeavours.

FTA welcomes Ms Martin's appointment and looks forward to continued engagement with the ABF and the Committee in support of a fair and effective licensing framework.
