Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) have received the following update from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) via import industry advice notice IIAN 377-2025 regarding upcoming information sessions to support the release of Biosecurity Industry Reporting Release 3 via the Biosecurity Portal. These reports, covering industry reporting for users logging in via the "Other Users" pathway, are part of the department's commitment under the Simplified Targeting and Enhanced Processing Systems (STEPS) Program to improve consignment visibility and streamline reporting for industry stakeholders. Who does this notice affect? Biosecurity industry participants and accredited persons operating under approved arrangement Class 19, who are interested in attending an information session on the upcoming Release 3 (other email users) of industry reporting via the Biosecurity Portal. What has changed? The department is pleased to announce that Release 3 of Biosecurity Industry Reporting will be rolled via the Biosecurity Portal. Release 3 will extend the reporting to users logging in with an email address/password (and with multi-factor authentication) via the Biosecurity Portal – the "Other Users" pathway. This release delivers on commitments to improve consignment visibility for industry and was developed as part of the Simplified Targeting and Enhanced Processing Systems (STEPS) Program. STEPS is an investment in the department's imported cargo ICT systems and business processes aimed at enhancing Australia's biosecurity risk management by creating a faster, simpler and more integrated cargo clearance system.
