The WA Government has confirmed that the Fremantle Traffic Bridge will close to all traffic on the 1st of February 2026 for up to 12 months (Media Statement), with the construction schedule being reviewed on an ongoing basis and programme expedited where possible. This follows previous announcements made regarding the full suite of initiatives to reduce peak-hour vehicle usage which will be in place from the start of the 2026 school year.
The Live Traffic WA app has also been launched to provide real-time travel updates during the closure.
