As outlined in our member notice (3 December 2025), Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) fully cooperated with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) in its review of WiseTech Global's acquisition of e2open (August 2025), its market position, and related enquiries.
As a part of this process, FTA shared members' concerns that, following the acquisition of e2open (including the Expedient platform) that:- there was a reduction in viable alternative logistics software solutions in the Australian market; and
- while promising new entrants were emerging, they did not have commercially available solutions (at the time of the enquiry).
In breaking news, WiseTech Global has publicly announced today (31 December 2025) that it has voluntarily agreed with the ACCC to sell Expedient Software Pty Limited.

FTA views this as a positive development as it is expected to facilitate increased competition in the logistics software market.
Following today's announcement, FTA has been in contact with Expedient executive who have given assurances that they will continue to operate as usual and that members will retain business continuity with access to their support, products, and services.
Next steps will be interesting to follow, particularly who the new owners of Expedient will be.
