Fremantle Ports Fremantle SailGP 2026 – Operational Update

Fremantle Ports is providing an updated operational notice ahead of the SailGP event taking place this weekend, 16–18 January 2026. We have worked with SailGP to minimise operational impacts, including significantly reducing commercial shipping pause windows from 24 hours across three days to just 6 hours.

There will be no commercial shipping movements during the following short windows:

 Friday 16 January

• 1100–1200

• 1430–1530

Saturday 17 & Sunday 18 January

• 1130–1230

• 1430–1530

Outside these times, normal commercial shipping operations will continue. Rottnest Ferry services remain unaffected.

Key Upcoming Dates:

• Wednesday 14 January (PM) – access at North Mole Drive and Northport Emma Place closed

• Friday 16 January – Official practice racing

• Saturday 17 – Sunday 18 January – Race Days and reduced inbound access at Cliff Street roundabout

• Monday 19 January – North Mole and Northport Emma Place reopen

• Friday 23 January - Victoria Quay berths and land area returned to normal use

• Friday 30 January 2026 – South Mole reopens to the public
