Biosecurity Business Pledge Australia Webinar - 12 February 2026 2:00pm-2:45pm AEDT

Wednesday, January 28, 2026

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) is pleased to share details of an upcoming webinar supporting the Biosecurity Business Pledge Australia — a collaborative initiative between the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) and Biosecurity Tasmania.

The Biosecurity Business Pledge Australia is designed to strengthen Australia's biosecurity by supporting businesses to proactively prevent the entry and spread of pests, weeds and diseases. By taking the pledge, businesses can embed practical biosecurity measures into day-to-day operations, helping to reduce risk, protect business continuity and build resilience across the supply chain.

Participation in the pledge is free and provides access to guidance and resources to support effective biosecurity risk management. Importantly, it also allows businesses to demonstrate a visible commitment to biosecurity to customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.

As part of this initiative, members are invited to attend a webinar titled Navigating biosecurity: a case study in biosecurity incident response, to be held on Thursday, 12 February from 2:00pm to 2:45pm AEDT

The session will include a keynote address from Chris Ipkendanz, Assistant Secretary, Crisis and Emergency Management at DAFF, and will provide insight into how biosecurity incidents are managed in practice. This includes an overview of the key phases of response such as reporting, tracing, treatment and surveillance, and the role industry plays in supporting effective outcomes.
