DAFF - IIAN 33-2026: Action Required: Upcoming changes for biosecurity industry participants receiving noreply@aff.gov.au emails from the department – effective 27 February 2026

Thursday, February 19, 2026

19 February 2026

Who does this notice affect?

All biosecurity industry participants (BIPs) currently receiving notifications from the Biosecurity Integrated Information System (BIIS) Approved Arrangements System (AA) via noreply??@aff.gov.au must note an important change to the email address.

Why this is urgent:

From 27 February 2026, BIIS system-generated emails will come from a new email address. If your organisation does not update its systems, rules, or whitelists immediately, you may stop receiving critical biosecurity communications.

What has changed?

From 27 February 2026, the email address used by BIIS to send automated system notifications will change.

What is changing?

All BIIS system-generated emails that currently come from noreply?@aff.gov.au will instead be sent from biis.noreply?@aff.gov.au.

Please note: Due to updated security requirements, the email noreply?@aff.gov.au will no longer be used. To ensure uninterrupted receipt of BIIS automated notifications, please update your systems to recognise biis.noreply?@aff.gov.au.

Who may be affected?

All biosecurity industry participants who:

  • maintain email allow-lists / whitelists
  • use email routing or exchange rules based on the sender address.

What do you need to do?

To ensure BIIS emails continue to reach your systems without interruption, please:

  • update any whitelists, filters, or automated processing rules to recognise biis.noreply?@aff.gov.au
  • confirm that your email systems will accept messages from the aff.gov.au domain.

When will this take effect?

27 February 2026.

Why you're receiving this notice

This is an advance notification to allow sufficient time for your organisation to update systems and avoid any disruption to BIIS-related communications.
