Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA), in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), invites members to attend a practical and informative webinar outlining the key outcomes of the Australia–European Union Free Trade Agreement (AEUFTA) and its implications for day-to-day trade and logistics activities.
Customs brokers, freight forwarders and logistics providers operate at the frontline of international trade and play a critical role in supporting the effective utilisation of free trade agreements and the benefits they provide.
This session will deliver a clear and practical overview of goods market access outcomes under AEUFTA, including tariff elimination, tariff rate quotas and what these changes mean in real terms for trade between Australia and the European Union.
The webinar will also unpack the Rules of Origin framework, with a focus on product specific rules, origin quotas and simplified, low-cost documentation requirements — critical elements for ensuring compliance while maximising preferential access.
In addition, the session will cover customs and trade facilitation measures, including mutual assistance provisions, aimed at improving transparency, efficiency and predictability at the border.
The webinar is designed to help members better understand how to apply AEUFTA in operational settings, identify opportunities for clients, and navigate compliance requirements with greater confidence.
Participants will walk away with a stronger understanding of how AEUFTA applies across the supply chain and the practical considerations customs brokers and freight forwarders should be mindful of when managing cargo and client activities.
The session will conclude with a live Q&A, providing an opportunity to raise questions directly with DFAT.
This is an important, commercially focused webinar not to be missed.
