DAFF - IIAN 61-2026: Publication of new instructional fact sheets for methyl bromide fumigation documentation

Wednesday, April 29, 2026

28 April 2026

Who does this notice affect?

Importers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and treatment providers involved in the methyl bromide fumigation of imported goods.

What has changed?

We have published 3 new instructional fact sheets to help treatment providers meet documentation requirements for methyl bromide fumigations.

Accurate documents are critical so we can assess and clear goods quickly. These fact sheets provide clear, step-by-step guidance on how to correctly complete the required forms. Following this guidance reduces the risk of processing delays or refused biosecurity clearances caused by administrative errors.

The newly published resources can be found on our methyl bromide fumigation guides and fact sheets webpage.
