Australian Customs Notice No. 2026/23

Increase to Biosecurity Cost Recovery Charge from 1 July

 2026

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) has received advice from Australian Border Force (ABF) via  ACN 2026/23, that the biosecurity cost recovery charge applicable to Full Import Declarations (FIDs) will increase from 1 July 2026.

The biosecurity cost recovery charge is collected by the ABF through the Integrated Cargo System (ICS) on behalf of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF), and applies to imported goods with a customs value exceeding $1,000.
