ACCC 2025-26 Container Stevedoring Monitoring Report Survey - Have Your Say

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has advised Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) that it is now inviting stakeholder feedback as part of its ACCC 2025-26 Container Stevedoring Monitoring Report consultation process. This annual report evaluates pricing, competition, and performance across Australia's container ports — with a strong focus addressing market failures and the increasing burden due to issues and challenges affecting the container freight supply chain. Responses will help inform the upcoming 2025-26 Container Stevedoring Monitoring Report.

You can access the survey by clicking the button below, which will direct you to the ACCC's consultation website. This site also includes the ACCC's Information and Privacy Policies, as well as links to previous monitoring reports.

We kindly ask you to take a moment to complete the survey, which closes on Wednesday, 22 July 2026.

FTA / APSA - IN THE MEDIA

2GB - Significant disruption resulting from prolonged delays at Qantas Freight Sydney Terminal

Significant delays in the recovery and release of import air cargo through Qantas Freight's Sydney terminal continue to cause disruption for industry.

The issue has now attracted broader media attention with James Willis from 2GB's Ben Fordham Show speaking to Tom Jensen,  who outlined industry concerns that the delays are affecting time-sensitive freight movements and creating flow-on disruption across the supply chain.

Air Cargo News - FIATA calls for delay to IATA changes to direct air waybill framework

Air Cargo News has published further coverage of industry concerns surrounding proposed amendments to IATA's Direct Air Waybill (DAWB) framework, reporting that FIATA has formally called for the changes to be delayed to allow a proper review process to be completed.

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) has again been referenced in the Air Cargo News coverage, highlighting particular concerns that the changes may also transfer responsibility and liability for Dangerous Goods shipments to freight forwarders, even where operational control, documentation, cargo declarations and packaging information sit with other parties in the supply chain.
