Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) wish to advise members that applications are now open for membership of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Private Sector Consultative Group (PSCG), the WCO's principal private sector advisory body to the Policy Commission.
The PSCG is the WCO's principal private sector advisory body, providing strategic advice to the WCO Policy Commission on customs and international trade matters affecting the global supply chain.
Following a recent review of the PSCG Terms of Reference by the WCO Secretary General, a number of existing members have rotated from the Group as part of a broader refresh of membership. The objective is to strengthen private sector engagement by broadening representation across industry sectors involved in international trade.
Applications are welcomed from organisations involved in cross-border trade, including:- Manufacturers
- Small and medium enterprises (SMEs)
- Importers and exporters
- Customs brokers
- Freight forwarders and logistics providers
- Supply chain operators and other trade stakeholders
Importantly, this call relates to membership of the global WCO Private Sector Consultative Group (PSCG) and is separate from the Asia Pacific Regional Private Sector Group (AP RPSG), which will continue to hold its regional representation on the PSCG.
Members interested in contributing to the development of international customs policy are encouraged to review the eligibility requirements and submit an application directly via the WCO's official Call for Applications.
Members intending to apply for PSCG membership are invited to advise Wendy Stanton, who has offered to notify the Hong Kong Vice Chair of the Asia Pacific Regional Private Sector Group accordingly.

FTA/APSA is also pleased to welcome Wendy Stanton to the 2026 Australia & New Zealand Shipping & Logistics Conference, to be held on 27–28 August 2026 at the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park.
Wendy will join representatives from the Australian Border Force, New Zealand Customs Service and industry in a panel discussion examining de minimis reform, Trusted Trader expansion, cargo systems and trade compliance. The session will explore emerging customs trends, evolving border technologies and the ongoing challenge of balancing trade facilitation with revenue protection, risk management and supply chain resilience.
