CANCELLATION OF CUSTOMS DEPOT LICENCES

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) advises members that Australian Border Force (ABF) has issued two Australian Customs Notices confirming the cancellation of three customs depot licences operated by two separate entities.

The following depot licences have been cancelled:

As a result of these cancellations, the premises are no longer licensed depots under the Customs Act 1901 and are not authorised to receive, store or handle goods subject to Customs control.

Members should review their operational records and ensure that goods subject to Customs control are not directed to the above locations.

Customs brokers, freight forwarders, importers, exporters, transport operators and other parties with goods currently stored at the affected sites should make appropriate arrangements regarding those goods as a matter of priority.

FTA recommends that members update internal depot reference lists and operational systems accordingly to avoid inadvertently directing cargo under Customs control to locations that are no longer licensed.
