Qantas Freight - Notice for export freight customers at Melbourne
Wednesday, October 7, 2026
Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) wish to advise members of the following notice issued by Qantas Freight regarding temporary changes to export ULD handling at Melbourne due to storage constraints associated with ongoing infrastructure upgrades:
Notice for export freight customers at Melbourne
Published 7 October 2026
We're carrying out
preparatory works at our Melbourne Freight Terminal
to support an upcoming infrastructure upgrade. Import operations aren't affected, but
while the works are underway we've temporarily changed how we handle export ULDs
.
What this means for export customers
Please deliver export ULDs 4–6 hours before scheduled flight departure.
Due to reduced storage capacity, ULDs that arrive much earlier may not be accepted, and you may be asked to return closer to departure time.
If you have any questions, please contact the Melbourne Freight Operations team through your usual channels.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time.
