Who does this notice affect?

All clients required to use the department's Biosecurity Import Conditions System (BICON).

Approved arrangements operators, customs brokers, importers, manned depots, and freight forwarders who are required to book and manage requests for inspections through the Biosecurity Portal.

Information                                                                                                 

To support scheduled infrastructure maintenance, there will be two (2) separate scheduled outages  to below listed systems from:

• 00:00 to 08:00 Saturday 24 October 2026 (AEDT)
• 16:00 to 23:59 Sunday 25 October 2026 (AEDT)

Affected systems

• BICON
• Biosecurity Portal

Action

BICON users are advised to complete and submit any in-progress import permit applications prior to the commencement of these planned maintenance periods.

Clients are advised not to access these systems during the maintenance periods.
