DCN - Services decline while fees increase

In the October issue of the DCN, Paul Zalai addresses the issues of border services declining while the federal government reaps millions from importers. He writes, "Based on the current minister's social media post, he clearly feels as though he has sorted out the funding model. He now needs to work out how to address the identified systemic problems, something successive government have failed to achieve" READ MORE. 

Tom spoke to how sea freight volumes are a window into an economy's health and notes that port volumes continue to disappoint amid a manufacturing downturn, however the industry is seeing a stronger 2024. LISTEN HERE

MANDATORY CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) MODULE

The Australian Border Force (ABF) have advised under the updated Australian Customs Notice No. 2023/23 that the mandatory CPD module is now available for completion.

ALL licensed customs brokers must complete this mandatory module by 31 March 2024
