National Emergency Management - DP World cyber incident

Tom Jensen, Head of International Freight & Logistics represented Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) at yesterday's urgently convened National Coordination Mechanism (NCM) meeting facilitated by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) addressing the supply chain impacts of the DP World cyber incident, situational awareness, and to discuss freight and logistics consequences of the issues arising from the incident  LOGIN REQUIRED .

"As TRQs limit supply at the lower in-quota tariff rate, they artificially raise prices, creating abnormally large profits for companies selling inside the quota scheme"

BICON change - Dairy

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (department) has made changes to the evidence requirements for the import conditions for goods containing less than 10% dairy. The condition allowing for an invoice to be used as evidence that the goods contain less than 10% dairy (by dry weight) has been removed.

This information can now only be provided by the manufacturer of the goods in a manufacturer declaration or on a food product label. READ MORE

Cargo Operations Snapshot 

The Department has advised industry that the Cargo Snapshot is currently under review for suitability and context.

While this review is undertaken the distribution of the snapshot will be paused.
